Event: Heritage Days Saturday 14 | Sunday 15 September 2024
Description: An opportunity to visit buildings or locations with a monumental or important historical status.
Comments: Some of the locations require booking in advance and some security checks. Last year (2023) I visited the “Kantoor van de Nederlanden van 1845” (Berlage) Kerkplein, the Grote Kerk, Societeit De Vereeniging – Kings Ballroom, Sint Jacobus de Meerdere Kerk, Parkstraat & the Waals Hervormde Gemeente (church) Noordeinde and I got some great photos from some normally inaccessible viewpoints.

Event: Prinsjesdag Rehearsal on Scheveningen Beach Monday 16 September 2024
Description: A rehearsal on Scheveningen beach by the mounted military units that escort the King on Prinsjedag.
Comments: Last year (2023) was the first time I watched the rehearsal. Not sure the precise beach location this year due to the major infrastructure and building works.

Event: Prinsjesdag Tuesday 17 September 2024
Description: Prinsjesdag. The King travels by the Golden coach usually to the Binnenhof to open the next parliamentary session but due to the major building works the opening ceremony will be in an alternative location, last year the opening ceremony was at the Koninklijke Schouwburg.
Comments: Get there early to the Lange Voorhout, it can be very busy. If you can wait for the return journey, it’s usually about an hour, you may get better photo opportunities.
